Terkejut-kejut dengan email yang dikirim mbah Google, bukan apa-apa cuma kaget aja koq bisa-bisanya saya dapat email dari tim pengembang Google Apps, saya kirain kalo mau direkrut jadi pekerja [hehehe] Eh ternyata cuma mau ngasih pemberitahuan aja… Tim Google Apps yang bekerja untuk mbah Google ini cuma mau bilang kalo terhitung sejak tanggal 1 bulan Maret tahun 2010, Google Apps resmi menceraikan IE 6 (Internet Explore versi 6). Hmmm, lebih jelasnya berikut ini kutipan email dari Tim Google Apps.

Dear Google Apps admin,

Dalam rangka untuk terus meningkatkan produk kami dan memberikan fitur yang lebih canggih dan kinerja, kita memanfaatkan beberapa perbaikan terbaru dalam teknologi browser web. Ini termasuk cepat JavaScript pengolahan dan standar baru seperti HTML5. Sebagai hasilnya, selama 2010, kita akan pentahapan keluar dukungan untuk Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 dan juga beberapa browser lama yang tidak didukung oleh produsen mereka sendiri.

Kami berencana untuk memulai pentahapan keluar mendukung browser lama ini di Google Docs suite dan Google Situs editor pada tanggal 1 Maret 2010. This includes faster JavaScript processing and new standards like HTML5. As a result, over the course of 2010, we will be phasing out support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as other older browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers.

We plan to begin phasing out support of these older browsers on the Google Docs suite and the Google Sites editor on March 1, 2010. After that point, certain functionality within these applications may have higher latency and may not work correctly in these older browsers. Later in 2010, we will start to phase out support for these browsers for Google Mail and Google Calendar.
